The Annual PETRI – Sofia Training School on Project Development and Management, Advocating for Adolescent and Youth Sexual and Reproductive Health and HIV Prevention among Young Key Populations took place between the 3rd and 7th of June 2013 in Samokov hotel in Borovets, Bulgaria. 50 young people from Eastern Europe and Central Asia took part in one of three modules, aiming to expand the cadre of highly skilled and trained young people in the EECA Region to plan and to implement wide spectrum of youth SRH and HIV prevention related activities.
For the first time this year, participants had to choose one of the three separete modules: Project Development and Management, Advocating for Adolescent and Youth Sexual and Reproductive Health and HIV Prevention among Young Key Populations, led by experts in the respective field. Each participant selected the most suitable one for him or her and the national Y-PEER network before arriving in Bulgaria and left even more motivated and prepared to work for the advancement of young people’s sexual and reproductive health and rights.
The expert and logistical component of the training have been implemented by the International Y-PEER PETRI Center with the financial and institutional support of the UNFPA Easter Europe and Central Asia Regional Office and the National center for public health and analysis within the Bulgarian Ministry of Health.
