A new international fellow joined the PETRI team in the beginning of October 2018 – Nino Chitishvili, 23 years old, from Tbilisi, Georgia. Her fellowship is supported by the UNFPA Regional Office for Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
Nino has seven years of experience working in the non-governmental field at national and international level. In 2017 she became a Y-PEER Focal Point in Charge of Georgia. Besides that, she works as master trainer at Georgian Youth Development and Education association (GYDEA), which officially represents Y-PEER in Georgia and provides peer education sessions on the topic, such as: gender equality, gender stereotypes, gender-based violence, sexual and reproductive health and rights. Annually GYDEA works with more than 5000 youngsters from all the regions of the country.
Nino: “As young people’s development and empowerment takes a huge part of my everyday life, I think I can use all my experience and contribute for the work of the PETRI team. It’s a very nice feeling to be in the very heart of our Orange family. Moreover, I consider this fellowship as a great opportunity to get in touch with Y-PEERs on national, regional and international level. I am very enthusiastic to have this opportunity and highly motivated to work together in order to achieve the objectives of Y-PEER.”
