Call for Sharing Personal Experience Stories on Peacebuilding and Conflict Resolution
The International Institute for Youth Development PETRI – Sofia is working on the development of an Online manual on the young people’s role in peacebuilding, violent extremism prevention and conflict resolution. The Manual will be part of a new youth advocacy platform which aims to facilitate the sharing of best practices and personal experiences between youth advocates working on peace from around the world and will be launched this autumn.
As a component of the Manual we plan to include videos of youth activists and young people living in conflict affected areas sharing their personal experiences of peacebuilding and conflict resolution, with the aim of highlighting the importance of youth perspective in the peacebuilding field.
We would absolutely love to engage you if you have experience on peacebuilding and the conflict resolution process. We would love to share youth peacebuilders and young people living in conflict affected areas videos and spread your experiences with other youth worldwide.
We will be collecting video contributions from around the world till the end of September 2017 and would love to include your voice in this initiative.
In order to help the contribution of participating young people we have outlined a series of sample questions to which could be responded in your videos but we will appreciate your perspective as well. The sample questions are intended to give an orientation before recording, but we would prefer the video to be a whole sharing rather than individual questions’ answers. Technical Guidelines for Shooting of Video
Shoot on a new phone such as an iPhone 5 or DSLR if either are available
Use the back (non selfie camera)
Clips and directional mics are preferred, but if this is not possible, the phone’s inbuilt microphone will work for videos shot indoors.
If outdoors, avoid having the sun behind the speaker and if indoors, the speaker should position him/herself next to a well-lit window.
For indoor shots, the speaker should try to position him/herself against a plain background or remove as much visual clutter as possible from the space.
All shots should be taken from a fixed camera and handheld only when there is no other option.
Speakers should be centered in the frame.
Videos should be approximately 3 minutes long.
