The Annual PETRI – Sofia Training School on Advocating for Youth Voices and Priorities in EECA Region 2014
is aiming to support the planning and the implementation of the ‘Youth Voice’ Regional Campaign, which is coordinated by the Regional Youth Leadership Group with the support of the UNFPA EECA Regional Office and UNFPA Country offices.
It aims to strengthen the capacity of young people to plan, implement, monitor and evaluate advocacy campaigns in their countries aimed at improving the situation of young people and ensuring their issues are reflected in the post-2015 agenda through specific targets and indicators.
PETRI Sofia hosted representatives of Youth, UNFPA Country Offices and Y-PEER from 18 countries in the Eastern European and Central Asian countries.
The outcome of the Advocacy School was providing an overview on the global processes linked to the review of the MDGs and ICPD as well as the Post-2015 Development Agenda as well as an overview of the basic principles of advocacy and how the participants could implement them on national level, though analyzing their national priorities.
Participants developed concrete action plan on implementation of their activities during the national advocacy campaigns as part of the Regional Advocacy campaign.
