This Monday and Tuesday (10 – 11th June), the team at the International Institute for Youth Development PETRI – Sofia participated at the 4-day event “Days of non-formal education 2019” which is organized for the second time in Sofia. The event was hosted by the Association “Professional Forum for Education” and it took place at the Earth and Man National Museum in Sofia.
The aim of this educational event was to bring together school officials (headmasters, teachers, pedagogues, psychologists), parents, students, and NGOs in order to give them the space to present themselves and find partners for their activities. This year’s program was very comprehensive and it included numerous forms of non-formal education for all ages and it covered wide variety of fields – science, technology, arts, languages, sports, culinary, media, ecology and many different areas. The rich program was consisted of creative activities for children, including scientific, art and fun workshops (8 and 9th June); activities for students, including scientific games, experiments, and interactive workshops (10th June); activities for parents, including presentations, meetings and movie screenings (8th June); and activities for pedagogues, including forums, presentation of different methods, and books promotion.
This year, the event was focused on summer programs for children and students, families and pedagogues. More than 40 associations, schools, academic and non-academic institutions presented their work by showing their materials on the stands, organized activities and found partners for collaboration. PETRI – Sofia team presented their work, current projects and established partnerships with schools for the future activities.
As organizers said, “Days of non-formal education is a positive, interesting, creative and useful non-formal educational event, reflecting the diverse and colorful palette of non-formal learning.” – and we absolutely agree with that!
We are happy to be part of this event and we would like to thank to the “Professional Forum for Education” for inviting us!
