On the occasion of the International Youth Day, the International Foundation for Y-PEER Development (IFYD) together with the International Institute for Youth Development PETRI – Sofia, on the 11th of August 2018 organized an one-day event entitled “1+1=3 Without a Condom” under the project “Volunteer Power: Speak, Act, Change“, supported by the Erasmus + programme of the European Commission.

The event took place in front of the National Theater in Sofia and its objective was to promote Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights and Family Planning, as well as to raise awareness among young people and adults regarding the use of modern contraceptives in order to protect themselves from sexually transmitted infections and unwanted pregnancy. Visitors had a chance to ask questions on the related topics, to get informational materials related to the topic, as well as condoms, and to participate in interactive games prepared by the PETRI – Sofia team and EVS volunteers of IFYD. The youngsters who gave correct answers to questions on sexual and reproductive health and rights to won different prizes provided by PETRI-Sofia. The approximate number of young people that were reached directly during the event was 100.
