Yuliya Andzhekarska representing the International Institute for Youth Development PETRI – Sofia and Sargis Ghazaryan, International Coordinator of the Y-PEER Network, participated in the Study Session “Youth Against Online Discrimination” which took place on 19-23 March 2018 in the European Youth Center – Strasbourg, France.
The study session was organized by the YSAFE network in partnership with IGLYO and the Digital Leadership Institute. It was held in cooperation with the Youth Department of the Council of Europe and its purpose was to bring 20 young SRHR activists together, in order to build their skills in identifying and addressing online discrimination based on gender and sexual orientation. The session increased participants’ knowledge on intersectionality (the study of the intersection of various forms or systems of oppression or discrimination) and how this notion can serve as a tool to understand discrimination. The young activists learned from each other’s experiences and gained knowledge on how to adequately and effectively tackle various forms of online discrimination.
